ECU Remapping

Our ECU remapping is fully custom written, this means we can account and adjust for your specific needs and vehicle modifications, including injector tuning, larger intercoolers, turbo and supercharger modifications, intake and exhaust systems, and other upgrades too.

With our ECU remaps, we can unlock the true potential of pretty much any modern vehicle, giving your vehicle up to 40% power gains than the standard ECU.

Here at SR Performance, our engine tuning services can vastly increase your engine's power output, economy, and durability.

We provide performance remaps for lots of cars, prices start from just £199

Some example figures from our work:

VW Golf 2.0 GTI - +55bhp, +85nm Torque

Audi A3 2.0TDI 181bhp 2012-present - +35bhp, +70nm Torque

Renault Megane 2.0T RS - +40bhp, +50nm Torque

What is ECU Remap?

All modern cars and vans have an ECU (Engine Control Unit). Often described as the brain of the car, the ECU contains within it a small processor that collects information from various sensors throughout the engine.

When a manufacturer develops a new car to roll off their production line, instead of optimising the engine control unit ECU for improved fuel or increased power, they have to take into consideration all of the conditions that car may be subjected to in all regions the car will go on sale.

ECU Remapping allows us to take readings from the ECU's processing chip and adjust various parameters within the existing standard ECU software such as fuel pressure, boost pressure, throttle pedal control and more allowing us to unlock the true performance from your car.

ECU Remap benefits

There are a number of benefits to remapping your vehicle's existing engine, and these are:

  • Increased brake horsepower
  • Increased torque
  • Faster throttle response
  • Improved fuel economy
  • Smooth power delivery
  • Flat spot elimination

DSG Remap

If your vehicle is fitted with a DSG gearbox and you have already had an engine/ECU remap from us but not a DSG tune then you are missing out!

Although the torque limiters are increased in engine tuning through tuning the DSG Gearbox ability to transmit torque from 350 Nm up to 550 Nm while still ensuring the stability and capability of all the mechanical moving hardware within the DSG gearbox. The torque limit both with our engine ECU tuning and now DSG is custom tuneable to your specification.

DSG Tuning Benefits

  • Faster gear shift speed
  • Launch control
  • Increased red line
  • Torque limits raised
  • Faster responding gearbox
  • Optimised shift pattern
  • Custom written in-house software
  • 5 million insurance backed guarantee
  • 30-day money back guarantee
  • Reliable and safe
  • Less gearbox clutch wear

    ECU Remapping FAQ's

Does ECU Remapping improve fuel economy?

ECU remapping has been known to improve the fuel economy of your vehicle, however with the new found power and torque, and faster throttle response, it can be tempting to accelerate harder, which can affect your miles per gallon.

However, if you do the majority of your miles on the motorway, and are a sensible driver, you should see an improved fuel economy when compared to your car's standard map.

What is the best ECU remapping software?

When it comes to different types of ECU remapping software, there are plenty to choose from. Every remap specialist will no doubt say their software is the best. However, the majority of the time the best mapping software will vary depending on the ECU in question.

The software we use has great reviews from a wide array of happy customers who have everything from Volkswagen's, Vauxhall's, Ford and much more.

How long does ECU remapping take?

Depending on your vehicle and its engine control unit, remapping can take anywhere from 1 hour to 3 hours and in some cases longer this all depends on the ECU type and modifications.

    Should I remap my ECU?

Should you remap your ECU? Do you want increased horsepower, torque, improved fuel efficiency, smoother power delivery, and to be able to safely overtake? If your answer is yes, then you should definitely remap your vehicle's ECU.
